Vision, Mission and Goals

Vision:

To be the leading dental hygiene program in the kingdom, regionally and internationally, in dental hygiene education, scientific research and community services

Mission:

To graduate competent leaders in the art and science of Dental Hygiene, to contribute significantly to scientific research and be committed to community services in reducing the prevalence of oral and dental diseases, thus improving oral health and quality of life among the Saudi society.

Goals:

1. Adopt new teaching methods and technologies with continuous update and reform of the curriculum using international standards as guidelines.
2. Provide appropriately supervised dental hygiene training in all clinical and pre-clinical courses.
3. Create a positive academic administrative environment to improve learning, research and patient care.
4.  Promote community awareness about the role of the dental hygienist in improving oral public health.
5. Strengthen the interdisciplinary services provided by dental hygienist and other dental care providers.
6. Establish and/or augment the role of the units for quality assurance in dental hygiene education, research and patient care.
7. Prepare to obtain an international external verification of our academic program within five (5) years.
8. Work with authorities in establishing job description criteria for dental hygiene profession and career ranks in government sector.
