Mission and Goals of PT Program

Mission

To enhance the quality of physical therapy and rehabilitation services nationally and globally by preparing competent physical therapists who provide evidence-based preventive and rehabilitative services, contribute to community health, and advance the physical therapy profession through scientific research.

Goals
1. To provide an excellent physical therapy education that prepares competent graduates through high-quality evidence-based practice aligned with national and international standards.
2. To prepare highly competent physical therapists capable of independent practice and effective collaboration within healthcare teams, while engaging in scholarly and research activities that advance the physical therapy profession.
3. To contribute effectively to community service and development initiatives that address the needs of patients, the physical therapy profession, and society.

Learning Outcomes

1.        Recognize all the essential components of the   biological, physical, behavioral, technological and clinical sciences   necessary for the practice of physical therapy.


2.        Identify the foundations   of professional physical therapy practice, especially those related to human   movement and functioning sciences, various medical and surgically intervened   conditions in different areas of practice.


3.        Select the best research evidence to apply in   the delivery of care, practice management and to examine the theoretical and   scientific basis for physical therapy.

4.        Outline psychological, behavioral, social,   economic aspects of diseases and their impact on patients and community under   the scope of physical therapy practice.

5.        Integrate concepts from the anatomy and   physiological sciences into physical therapy practice.

6.        Demonstrate the best evidence for practice in   physical therapy and clinical judgment to compose the best care.

7.        Employ critical thinking, problem-solving and   evidence-based practice in order to make clinical decisions.

8.        Apply all the fundamental elements of physical   therapy practice in reference to patient management.

9.        Communicate effectively in a culturally   competent manner with patients/clients, family members, caregivers, and   multidisciplinary team members.

10.  Practice   professional collaboration and work independently as a part of the   rehabilitation team.

11.  Exhibit   professional and ethical behavior that is consistent with the legal and   ethical practice of the physical therapy profession.

12.  Illustrate   self-assessment, professional development and life-long learning of physical   therapy practice.
