About the Department

The Department of Community Health Sciences is one of the oldest academic departments within the College of Applied Medical Sciences. Its primary focus lies in preparing qualified national professionals to serve the healthcare sector, contributing to the enhancement of community health, improving the quality of nutritional and therapeutic care provided to patients, promoting health awareness, and empowering individuals to adopt healthy behaviors. Additionally, the department is committed to advancing healthcare services and preserving environmental health.

The Department of Community Health Sciences strives to fulfill its educational, research, and community service mission by offering a range of complementary programs aimed at improving community health. These include Clinical Nutrition, Health Education, Health Services Administration, Environmental Health, and Medical Records. The department offers undergraduate programs for both male and female students, as well as postgraduate programs. The undergraduate curriculum begins at the fourth level and includes specialized courses that integrate both theoretical and practical aspects, spread across six semesters. Following this, students are required to complete a mandatory internship year. In its pursuit of keeping pace with advancements in the field of community health sciences, the department has consistently updated its curricula, teaching methods, lecture halls, and facilities, such as the Clinical Nutrition and Health Education laboratories, equipping them with state-of-the-art scientific devices and educational models.
