Clinical laboratory department statistics

The Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences was established under the College of Health Sciences in 1981 (1401 AH). This department was the first bachelor's program in Clinical Laboratory Sciences in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The first graduating class consisted of both male and female students. As a result, significant steps were taken to increase the number of faculty members, facilities, and infrastructure, leading to the formation of a complete Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences. The university's Higher Council decided in a meeting held in January 1987 to convert the College of Health Sciences into the College of Applied Medical Sciences. Thus, the first College of Applied Medical Sciences in the Kingdom was born. The laboratory program reflects the college's principles regarding community healthcare and the Saudi environment, as well as the importance of education in laboratory sciences, research, and community service. The Department of Laboratories provides comprehensive clinical training, practice, and support for all undergraduate and graduate students to work as qualified laboratory specialists.
