Master's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences

To qualify specialists in the precise fields of clinical laboratory sciences, provide competency in medical diagnostics, foster an environment that enhances scientific research, and contribute to a knowledge-based economy to better serve the community.

 

Objectives

  • Graduate specialists in precise fields of clinical laboratory sciences to enhance quality in healthcare, meeting labour market demands.

  • Provide graduates with research skills and promote evidence-based practice.

  • Achieve community partnerships to develop the services offered in the field.

  • Enhance principles of leadership and professional and ethical behaviour among graduates.

 

Study System and Hours

  • Study Plan for the Master's Program (Thesis Option): The student must complete 32 credit hours of master's courses, including the thesis.

 

  • Study Plan for the Master's Program (Course Option): The student must complete 39 credit hours of master's courses, including a research project.

    • Medical Microbiology.

 

Admission Requirements

In addition to the admission requirements stated in the unified regulations for postgraduate studies in Saudi universities and the regulatory and executive procedures for postgraduate studies at King Saud University, the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences requires the following:

 

1. The applicant must have obtained a Bachelor's degree in regular attendance in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent from health and scientific specialities related to King Saud University or any other recognized entity, with a grade no less than Good and a cumulative GPA of (2.75 out of 5) or its equivalent. "Applicants must contact the department to determine if their speciality is related before applying through the electronic admissions portal."

2. The applicant must have scored at least (5) on the IELTS ACADEMIC test or its equivalent.
