Clinical Nutrition Doctor
CHS department seeks to achieve its mission of education, research, and services by offering two integrated programs for the betterment of the health of the community, they are: (1 ) Clinical Nutrition, and(2) Health Education. The department offers undergraduate and graduate programs available for both male and female students. The German Agency for Accreditation recommended the extension of postgraduates programs and in particular the doctoral programs. In addition, the establishment of doctoral programs was one of the main recommendations made at the first conference for CAMS, which was hosted by the King Saud University in 2012 . Commencing such programs would lead to a rise PhD holders, which would consequently help overcome the shortfall in the members of staff in the department. It is well known that specialists in the disciplines related to clinical nutrition are not common. As a result, it is difficult to obtain admission for PhD studies for some of our graduates. From a strategic perspective, KSU expands the postgraduate studies to overcome the need of Saudi universities for faculty members. Therefore, based on the above reasons, CHS department proposes to provide a PhD program in Community Health Sciences - Clinical Nutrition track.
